Once again, the details

A whole month training, new players in the field and, still, more points were wasted. Scoring first and giving the equaliser became a routine, for the supporters' deception

With a no more than regular presentation, Coritiba came back from Maceio (capital for the northeastern Alagoas State) wasting two more points. The apathy and lack of attitude were Coritiba's main characteristics. Passing mistakes keep on showing up, and the ball control, so emphasized by the coach, wasn't better than team's passivity. Occupying the 7th place in the classification board, Coritiba is now four points behind the leader, Nautico.



The new players, who signed during the World Cup stoppage, showed that they came to add something to the team: Paulo Miranda had a good performance in the middle, Luis Paulo was regular in the right back and Cristian showed his qualities, claiming for a line-up berth. On the other side, some players must show something better to keep their positions, for exemple, center-forward Alberto and offensive midfielder Caio.

The first half had a bad start for Coritiba, as they couldn't control the ball and create opportunities. Although creating the best chances, CRB didn't offer any danger and only in the 14th minute, Artur had to make a good stop in a mid-distance shot.

In the middle of the first half, Coritiba got better and started creating some chances, especially by the feet of Ricardinho and Anderson Gomes.

In a counter-attack for the green team, Anderson Gomes and Caio traded passes, and the young forward took an excelent long range shot, managing to hit the low corner of the opponent's goal. Coritiba 1-0.

Ater the visitors goal, the home team tried pressing the greeners, but with no effectiveness. In the first half, Coritiba didn't create much chances, but Anderson Gomes fortunately scored. The worst player was center-forward Alberto, who didn't appear to receive passes.

At the very beginning of the first half, the punishment: a corner took in the third minute passed by three defenders and CRB's Tico Mineiro rose high and flicked a header past Artur. Besides the defenders' mistake, Artur also failed, as he slipped when trying to block the ball. It was CRB's first equaliser.

The game concentrated in the midfield, and Coritiba could avoid the opponent from scoring, fighting back in the 14th minute, with an inside shot from Ricardinho which hit Alberto and got loose.

Trying to change the scoreboard, Coritiba's coach Paulo Bonamigo tried some substitutions: Cristian and Batatinha entered for Caio and Luis Paulo to get out. The team got a little better, but center-forward Alberto's lack of moving was still a problem. Even though, Coritiba created two opportunities, with a free kick taken by Cristian and a near-bar header from Henrique.

At the 34th minute, Coritiba's supporters had new joy. Defender Índio crossed just for the other defender Batatais to score. Coritiba 2-1.

But Coritiba once again shrinked in front of CRB's limited team, and allowed another equaliser in a grotesque defense fail. Alberto took a wrong pass in the offensive field and gave the opponent a counter-attack opportunity. CRB's player tried twice crossing to the area and, in the second try, the ball got to Val Baiano for a free-header score, inside the box. 2-2.

The generalized defensive fail culminated in the loss of two more precious points. Now, ten matches have been played untill now, and, only in one of them, against Portuguesa, in Couto Pereira Stadium, Coritiba didn't suffer any goal. And the so controversial attack, passed only one match with a clean sheet, agains Marilia, away.

Coritiba will receive Paulista in July 15th, and CRB, the 13th placed, will receive America de Natal.
